Me: "You've called my cell phone and I never give money to phone solicitors."
Cell phone: "Oh, we're not asking for money! Your voice is really hard to understand?!"
Me: "Yeah, I have cancer and..."

Betty Bushey here. Just finished reading your blog. Your mom gave some of us the address. You are a great writer and I enjoyed following your progress. Your mom is just a dear, but you already know that. We Leelanau girlfriends are keeping her and your whole family in our strong, positive, optimistic thoughts and prayers. I am a strong believer in positive thinking and I can tell by reading your blog that you are a positive thinker and and optimist. Oh, yes. Forgot to say that I am one of the original Leelanau Move to Amend gals. Working with your mom has been a delight! Chuck, I don't read your blog daily so was shocked to read of all that you've experienced this past week. What a trooper. Even with all the unpleasant things you are experiencing you still write and make others smile or laugh. What a gift. We continue to send prayers and positive energy your way. By now the Sisters must wonder who this laurie and chuck are they see in the petition book regularly. Blessings and peace, dear man.
